The worst salon ever I've had several horrible experiences with them. Tries to give them several chances but disappointed most of the time. They were rude to my disabled mother and shaved the nape of my hair bald when I asked for a simple shape up. They talk badly about their clients in Spanish not knowing some ethnic people that are non Hispanic speak Spanish as a second language. They are horrible. Don't even go there for basic things they burn the crap out your hair on top of it all. They do a rush job with everyone

If I could give this 0 stars I would. I went yesterday September 7th, 2015. I wanted a wash and set, and they washed my hair did not deep condition it - which i asked for - and put my hair under the dryer without roller setting it. Didn't know salons do that. No shower cap no nothing. After drying my hair to a crisp they blowdried my hair and then flat ironed it without putting any product in it. My hair was breaking all over the place. They didn't put any hair spray or sheen after I was done. You know when you leave the hair salon and you can smell it? Nope not me, It smelled like burning hair. Also I got there 3:40 and left 6:30. Don't know why it took so long. They charged me 47 dollars after saying it was 45 and claimed it was tax. Yeah ok. Save your money and save your hair. The people who work there have disgusting attitudes.

June 2015- SISTERS BEWARE!!! In all my years of visiting salons...yes I am a 52 year old professional...(need to justify my testifmony) my hair never rebounced from the damage. I am so pleased that my efforts to grade beauty salons is finally being considered by the NYS delegates...Places like this that do more damage than good must be rated for the public to know their service record!! It has been two years since my bad experience with this establishment and I plan to record periodically so they will NEVER forget!!!
December 6, 2013: SISTERS BEWARE OF THIS SHOP!! December 6, 2013, I will continue to document the status of my hair since having a relaxer and color by this establishment. Beautician Clara gets the prize for damaging my once beautiful thick healthy mane. But owner wins the prize for lacking business etiquette. On April 6th, 2013 I had my hair relaxed and colored...immediately in the white sink as clara washed out my relaxer my hair was visible in the sink....I have found some satisfaction with the better business bureau, however my mane is still lifeless...I am now going natural and will move on....but I will continue to document the journey because it is a TERRIBLE experience to have your hair destroyed by one beautician and even worse when the owner turns a blind eye to unsatisfactory service....shame shame shame on YOU!!!
Well it is now july 21, 2013 (3 months) since the batched hair relaxer i received from this beauty salon!!! My hair is still chopped up lifeless and thin!!! What the hell did they use in my hair? The good news is that I have finally heard from the NYS DEPt. of Licensing about my complaint...I am thrilled that there is a system to reporting beauty shops that take our money and our hair...i am going full steam ahead to keep public awareness up with regards to incompetent beauticians who should be regulated and rated like most businesses in the city...I am hopeful that all women who have ever felt victimized and violated by a beautician to stand up and rate them...my rating for Illira Beauty shop is of course "F" for service.
Setpember 13, 2013 and my hair remains lifeless....I am still awaiting results for my proposal of having all beautysalons rated just as restaurants and other service establishments are rated. Contact your local congressman and express outrage that there are no protections or public warnings in the beauty world...as women we are victimized without recourse...can't wait for DeBlasio for Mayor, I am sure under his reign as mayor NYC will be the first to begin rating salons such as Ellira or Illira(note two different spellings)_...no matter what the spelling ladies beware of this shop.....
