We must have been there when the chef was on vacation. It was the first week of August and we ordered both a salad. Never seen such a bad salad and it never tasted as bad as here. On the bottom of the plate there it was all brown from the vinegar and on top of this a few handfuls of arugola salad ... No love, no inspiration, no nothing.

Amazing food. I have been 3 times and it never fails to impress. Old fashioned service fantastic n italian food. The porcini ravioli with truffle cream sauce is beyond description, and all the meat dishes are perfect

Head to Il Giglio if you want to celebrate a special occasion. You can't get fresher Italian food anywhere else in the city.
Plenty of room between the tables and the restaurant has a quiet atmosphere.
The food is presented in a nice decorative way.
There is a wonderful wine selection.

This is what a special restaurant should be. The decor is unobtrusive, the room quiet though not hushed and the food is both subtle and just specatcular.

Absolutely the best time you'll have in NYC. This is an experience not to be missed. As you sit you are swarmed with waiters laying down breads, cheeses and antipasts.. the menu is simple and Divine. Service is outstanding. Best way to enjoy this restaurant is with a group a friends that like to eat and drink and money is no issue, because it will cost you. But if you can swing it, Go!!
