The server girl, Alondra, went out of her way to make sure we get exactly what we wanted. She ran back to the kitChen to check something for us before finalizing our order.

This place gets a rave review from me simply because of their fantastic customer service. The waiters/waitresses are consistently very polite and professional. Even the regular busboy, a tall, black gentleman, is super awesome.
I want to mention a specific experience that I had which stood out to me. I came here during a busy Sunday & was served a dish that I was dissatisfied with. The manager heard me complaining to my waitress, and he came over to apologize. Then he personally replaced the dish with a better one. Not only was I not charged for this, but he discreetly added a small "manager's" discount on the receipt to make up for the inconvenience!!!
I did not catch his name, but sir if you are reading this, YOU ARE THE REAL MVP! There are so, SO many eating establishments and businesses that couldn't care less about their "cash cows" (see my other reviews for examples), so major kudos have to be given to the places that DO CARE and have exceptional treatment of their clientele.
I will be returning to this joint, not because their food is anything special (you can go anywhere for generic, frozen diner fare) but because they know how to run things.

Never go to this IHOP..... I had family coming with 16 people and called to confirm at 10:30am and was told that Kids eat free on Sunday after 4pm.....I was all set to eat at 4:30pm.... Matthew the manager called at 3:45pm to say that they do not run the special on Sunday and cancelled our reservations. Good thing my money is accepted at IHOP on 46 in Totowa. Clifton IHOP, you have lost a customer and I will never eat there again and until my last breath I will tell anyone willing to listen to never go there. Can you hear me now Matthew the manager at IHOP?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Food was fine but the service sucked, very unprofessional. First of all the staff all hang out in the corner on their phones and flirting with one another. Secondly they can't do separate checks...what? I'm here on business going to dinner with my crew, we have a meal budget so one person payinh for everything doesn't work out. How hard is it to simply ring through two separate orders for a table, its not I've worked in the restaurant business before and this is just a huge disservice to your customers so your job is easier. Thankfully the waitress spoke to the manager who said he would take care of it but when we went to pay, the girl at the register was extremely rude to us about it like we were being soo ignorant for doing this. I don't know if its just this one restaurant or IHop in general but they lost my business I'll stick with Dennys!
