Ice House Cafe

Great dinner options. I liked the service and the atmosphere here as well. The waitress was positive and communicative. They work fast and effectively. I was here with my wife, who also liked the place. Would consider going back here at any time.

It seems to me that the only time this place is up to par is when the owner is there. She makes sure that you're seated and served in a timely and professional manner and is very attentive and friendly. I recently went with my spouse in the beginning of October and the waiter kept forgetting what we asked him for and we waited a long time for bread and even longer for our meal. My daughter was going to rent the room for a private event and she was very disappointed with the service and meal when she went for the first time on 10/27/15. She wasn't even given any bread at all and she and the rest of the family were the only patrons at the time. I hope they go back to the way they were soon or they will lose a lot of business.

This was my third visit. I really wanted to like it. On first visit, (a few years ago) I was with a group. My food came out an entire HOUR after everyone else in my group had already been served, and finished their meal. Plenty of apologies, but still had to pay full price. I became the laughing stock of my group because of it. Second visit, a year or two ago - everything was fine, just super slow. Finally, third trip today. Food was excellent, hostess friendly. Food took a LONG time to come out (everything prepared "to order" is the warning expressed in the menu). After finishing our meal we waited almost 40 minutes, and still no waitress to check on us or give us our bill. We had to ask another waitress to get our bill. It was like as soon as our food was delivered, the waitress disappeared. Others around us got great service, but it was clear who was friends with the waitstaff. They got all the attention. One table (a medium sized family) had been sitting for 15 minutes before another waitress said to them "has anyone come to your table yet?" and the parents replied "nope! not yet..." It just looked very chaotic and disorganized. I also watched two servers clean the tables with the patrons already seated. This led to at least two people getting full-on blasts of windex in their faces, because of the outdoor breeze (one clearly had it in his mouth too, just based on his reaction/expression). Both patrons clearly appeared annoyed, one even taking his sunglasses off of his head to wipe them clean of the windex he had just been blasted with. I really really want to like the Ice House. It's local, it's quaint, it has gorgeous views and fun outdoor seating. But the service seems to have giant flaws that just made for an unpleasant experience for me, even after giving them a second - and a third chance.

Normally I would give this restaurant a five star rating, but my sister and I felt a bit out of place as soon as we were seated. I have to confess dinner was exquisite and my reading on point, but we felt we were being overlooked quite a bit. service was horrible Having to remind them of dessert being bought the wrong creamer twice and someone else's check makes me think maybe they were eager to get rid of us. They would never warrant a second visit or a referral. Our monies are just as good as anyone else's. Customer service is key!!!!! It is in my oponion that overcharging their customers is the NORM!!!!!!!!!!!

Worst service ever. Order was completely wrong. Food was nothing that I couldn't have done at home. Overcharged for no reason. I wouldn't recommend this place to even my enemy.
