This billing company is unbelievable! The Director just told me to consult my conscience and honesty!
Long story short, the doctor that they are billing for does not accept my insurance. Because I was not given a choice in the doctor (anesthesiologist), I had to appeal it through my insurance company. The insurance company informed me that the reason why it wasn't covered was because HSS had my address incorrect and they coded the bill incorrectly. Once my insurance company made those changes, the bill was processed within 30 days. I called this company once I received a CORRECT bill (which according to them is now 120 days past due), and asked that they extend out the terms so that I didn't go to collections. All the representative kept saying was "You owe this, when are you going to submit payment".
When I got on the phone with the director, she was even more rude than the CSR's. She was argumentative and just keep saying that I owe the money. I KNOW I owe the money, but it took this company 4 months to send me a correct bill and now they are telling me that they will send me to collections if I don't pay right away.
The Director of Client Services then told me to consult my conscience and my honestly, when I told her that I would be filing a complaint with the hospital and the doctor for their billing practices.
