Mixed feelings. The brisket, I will admit, is better than any other place I've been to in the metropolitan area. But, the potato salad needs more mustard, the cole slaw needs vinegar, the beans are good, the sauces are okay, the sides are too small. And white sandwich bread is always served with brisket. It wasn't there. You're large size is a pint, and should be a medium and your medium is a small. Your Texas size is just that. There should be a size between the Texas and the large.
And if I call and complain, at least have the decency to say, "Hey, here's $5 off your next order" Or a coupon or something? Not, "well I checked with the person who packed your order and we were right, about what we sent you" Yeah, okay, I was wrong, but at least treat me like a customer. I did just spend $100.....

We came in on a Saturday night for dueling pianos (5 stars for those guys!) but I was otherwise underwhelmed.
Boyfriend had made a reservation for my birthday. We were seated right in front of the piano guys at one of their picnic table style tables. Our server seemed overwhelmed by the various groups. I watched a couple tables around us waiting for missing food.
It took a very long time to get our drinks. The waiter was apologetic, but said "the server bar always gets backed up". Get another bartender back there, then! Boyfriend got a gin cocktail off the list, and it was pretty good.
I got a frozen margarita for $10 and it tasted like limeade. I asked if I could get the $2 extra shot to make it better... Our waiter disappeared. He came back and said no, I'd have to pay $10 for a regular shot. I complained that this drink was really disappointing. He went off to ask his manager and came back to offer to make me a new margarita drink with the shot in it, which was fine with me, but it took another 20 minutes to get it! But that was better, although not $12 delicious.
It was equally difficult to pay our check.
The food was mostly fine. We got ribs (1/2lb, or 3 ribs) and 1/2lb pulled park, both of which just served as a vehicle for barbecue sauce. The medium potato salad was terrible, under seasoned and mealy. The deviled eggs were probably the best, but still... Not really impressive or worth the price.
I hope the dueling piano guys find a better place to play.

Had the brisket sandwich for lunch yesterday. One word to describe it, 'weak'. The meat had too much fat and the portion was not that large. For $10.50 you think maybe I could get some fries or at least some chips with it. The iced tea was good and the waitress was pleasant and attentive. So nice job with the hiring of the staff and the person who brews the tea. Work on the other stuff. Probably will not go back.

The meat was ok taste wise, nothing to come back for. Side of homemade coleslaw had zero taste, nachos were 16 since we ordered brisket on top maybe 3-5 small pieces of meet. Mkst of the cheese was burned to the bottom of the pan. fries seemed frozen. Service was awful. We sat near the front of could hear the wait staff yell at each other for seating them. Had to flag down our server to get another beer, to ask for check and to take the credit card. When asked how our food was we said it's ok she said great and ran off. Not worth the money.

This place is flaunted as a true Austin-style BBQ joint, but I thought the food was just okay. It's obviously much better at the source, but the margaritas were watered down, the briscuit was a little dry, and the sausage didn't have as much flavor as I was hoping.
On the upside, the BBQ sauces are good, the chili was pretty great, and they have Shiner Bock on tap (which makes it hard for me to hate anywhere really). The location is great, with good views of the Manhattan skyline, and some nights they have dueling pianos which can be really fun.
