Worst Place I have ever stayed.....horrible. I was soo shocked by the state. Within 5 minutes of being there I had met 4 people who had recently checked in and were also appalled by the place. Felt like I'd walked into a horror movie, narrow corriders going on forever, like a maze. I wanted to check out immediately. But being on a tight budget I had to make do..otherwise great location, right near central park. But i would not recommend to anyone unless they are very desperate.

That was a one horrible place. It smelled like homeless people, reminded an asylum, and we needed to change three rooms before we found a bed with linen that did not have somebody's hair in it. The room next to the second room was closed by police. I really suspect this building was full of rooms for old people living there, and when they started dying out the owner just bought out the rooms with some people still staying in it. Again, everything was horribly dirty and smelled like homeless people. We met other people there who were in exactly same disgusted and shocked state but the "hotel" would not return any of the money.I felt like it was somebody's joke. Did not even come close to the bathroom, slept in my clothes on, and would go anywhere for any price, but it was already 3am and we needed to leave at 7. I lived in the cheapest areas of Manhattan for a while, but I have never seen anything so unbelievably filthy.

Three things that may have pushed you into booking a room at Riverside Studio Hotel. Location. Price. And Desperation. Take heart it isn't all that bad. Yes, the corridors are dirty and narrow. But the bathrooms, though shabby, are clean. The room we stayed in, though somewhat worn, was cleanish, the bed comfortable and the electrics in anonymously good shape. We met no mice, no roaches (not living ones), or bed bugs. So, enjoy Manhattan, Did come to the Big Apple to stay in a hotel room? You are a five minute walk from shedding a tear for Lennon at Strawberry Fields in Central Park. A twenty minute walk from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Walk south you are Columbus Circle and Wholefoods where you can chow down on good food by the pound and shop or go to the Museum of Arts and Design. It is going to be fine.

I just stayed at this place this weekend. my friend booked so the first time I saw it was when we showed up. Basically its a hostel, community bathrooms. The hallway outside our room smelled absolutely horrible. The only reason to stay here is that it is about a 1/3 of the cost of other hotels. but you get what you pay for. We couldn't even stay a second nite because it is so bad.
