Please take a minute to read this and do NOT EVER BUY ANYTHING HERE!
We came to Home and Kidz 14 months ago, June (2015) looking for baby furniture and were impressed by the sales associates knowledge and the large variety of items they had in the store. I remember at the time of purchase I noticed some of the the items could be bought at other vendors and I asked why we should buy at Home and Kidz and was told that they have incredible customer service and that's important with baby products. For perspective, I was 6 months pregnant at this time and we ordered a crib and changing table which we were told would be delivered in 8 weeks. Fast forward 8 weeks and no word. So I called them and I am pretty sure that our order was just never put in on time because for the next EIGHT WEEKS we heard nothing but excuses as to where our shipment was. Our son was almost two months old by the time the furniture came! Then, when the furniture was FINALLY delivered (and to be fair they covered the cost of delivery to NYC and also gave us a loaner changing table to use) but when the furniture was finally delivered the changing table was a mess! It had a dent in one of the drawers, the top drawer didn't close properly and there were marks/ scratches throughout. We called home and kidz right away and they said we would get a new changing table.
For weeks afterwards every time we would call or email there was a different excuse- the manufacturer sucks (though the crib and changing table were from different manufacturers so that doesn't make sense), the truck broke down, it takes 10 days to get from GA to NJ etc etc. Finally we spoke with John who was the only helpful person we dealt with in months. Despite his excellent communication we still did not hear that a new dresser was delivered until our son was ONE YEAR OLD (or 14 months AFTER we put in the original order). At that point I simply asked for a refund since we don't need a small changing table for a toddler. After sending an email and another follow up email because no one replied, I finally heard back that they would give me the money back in store credit (as if I would ever shop here again) and wouldn't charge me a re-stocking fee for the BROKEN changing table that was I was delivered) in lie of an actual refund for a broken changing table. I responded to their email two weeks ago and yet again, have yet to hear anything.
This was by far the worst, most stressful shopping experience I have ever had and to make it worse it is babies furniture. Please please do yourself a favor and DO NOT order from here. Go, look, pick something you like and order ANYWHERE else.
