Reviews to Holland Tunnel from NJ
Best tunnel in the city. One of the world's first ventilated tunnels, a historic yet pragmatic site in NYC. With over 30 million vehicles a year, it's essential to the vitality of the city. Watch out for that traffic on Friday starting at 1, but it depends on the weekend. It varies greatly.

A popular location, judging by the one-hour wait to get inside at peak times. Mingle with other motorists seeking to leave or return to The Big Apple, in a phenomenon known deceptively as "rush hour".
An engineering marvel for its time (late-1920's), it was the first roadway between New York City and New Jersey.
It was built before GPSs and lasers, yet the tubes still lined up under the Hudson River. Named for its architect, the civil engineer Clifford Holland.
Price: Free to travel westbound to New Jersey, approx $15 to return (depending on payment method). Price may include extended tour of Canal Street, Varick Street or Jersey City depending on traffic volume.
At least one member of your party must possess a valid driver's license and registered vehicle to enter, unless you are riding on a bus.

Confusing entrance and very aggressive drivers. Lanes merge suddenly and you need your best defensive driving skills to get through unscathed. Also it's expensive going into the city!! GW Bridge is the least painful way of getting into the city.

The entrance to the city of dreams and nightmares. It could easily have gotten five stars had it not been quite as expensive. Also, being the age it is, any dripping water on the walls makes me thankful for every day I'm still alive ( that's a good bad thing ).
