Holistic Dentististry: Dr. Lewis Gross, DDS

Hygienist great. Front staff not attentive as I was leaving. Just waved me out

The cleaning staff is amazing. However Dr. Gross cuts way too much out of the tooth for filling and other work, which is fine if needed but then his suggestions of inlay and overlays are off. The care he took for my crown was negligent and created a space with a dental saw instead of adjusting the crown properly. I had to go somewhere else to have the tooth in front filled in to cover the gap as I was getting what seemed like entire meals caught between these molars. he is always pressing for you to sit in the chair for some sort of eval, even if u are just there for a cleaning. Patients also please understand you have the right to choose your own dental lab, you don't have to use theirs to make your teeth for you. I love the cleaning staff but the dental work leaves more to be desired.

I can't recommend this office of holistic dentistry highly enough! My husband and I are already in our seventies so we have had many dental experiences and three previous experiences of holistic dentists - all of which were good but nothing like this center which is truly extra-ordinary. First of all, each of the dentists my husband and I came in contact with (4 doctors in two visits so far) is highly professional and compassionate, listening to what we say, responsive to our preferences and budgetary limitations and providing us with the latest up-to-date treatment options & recommendations. The leading dentist, Dr Lewis Gross, is a pioneer in holistic dentistry and one couldn't have a better guide and co-ordinator: he is highly educated in a broad range of holistic health, intelligent, flexible and kind and we just love the way he has brought into his practice, and co-ordinates with, many other holistic professionals such as an essential oil nutritionist and someone who does cranio-sacral massage. Dr Verma was our first experience of this kind of broad holistic dentistry and we simply fell in love with her charm, as well as receiving in half an hour the most comprehensive and informative view of our mouths we have ever been given! We were also given a lengthy free consultation on implants by a leading periodontist in the field. For my treatment today, the oral surgeon was extremely skilful and made an ordeal really bearable by telling me what he was doing with each action and being amazingly gentle and empathic.
On top of the superb medical staff, the supportive staff are outstanding professionals, taking active roles in guiding the patient how to relax during surgery or through tricky X-rays (wonderful Dafna) or how to get the most out of the varied experiences. Antonin & Cat, the two office staff at the front desk, are wonderfully helpful and approachable. The treatments here generally cost what they cost elsewhere - and of course that is a financial challenge to many of us, but here one truly receives an amazing value and is given so many health-saving tips from staff who take their time with you and provide AAA treatments and many extras that one really gets a lot of value for one's money. In short, this is center I am very impressed by, very grateful for and highly recommend - Dr Sarah Glenn, (psycholinguist)

I chose Dr. Verma based on her high ratings and the fact that she was labeled as in-network for my dental insurance on ZocDoc. I followed up via email with the dentist office to confirm that they were in fact in-network and when I arrived they called my insurance company and told me "Yup you're good to go!". The Dentist herself was extremely nice and helpful and I had a good experience until I went to pay and was told that actually I was "out of network but approved" and therefore had a copay of $150, which is an exorbitant fee and since it was just a cleaning it would have been completely covered by my insurance. When I told them this, and walked them through the emails I had sent and shared how upset I was and that I would have not followed through with the appointment had I known they were out of network, they still charged me. Therefore, I had a horrible experience here and would never return.

The people in there are really lovely and professional. Gave me great advice because of my pregnancy and showed me how to floss correctly. I am definitely going to look after my teeth more! See you again!
