Tiny parking lot. Great breakfast spread. Refrigerators/microwaves are NOT standard with room. Clean and updated. Pretty decent hotel, given the surrounding area.

We were very impressed with this hotel. What we liked the most: easy access to hotel and to Manhattan, free shuttle, free parking, clean and quiet room, big TV, friendly front desk, awesome breakfast, affordable.
Coming from Boston it was very easy to get to and easy to find. We found FREE parking behind the hotel right away. Check-in was a breeze and front desk was friendly and willing to help and answer questions. She booked a shuttle for us ASAP and within 10 minutes we were on our way to subway. The free shuttle took 15-20 min (with traffic.) We took the R train to midtown, 10-20 minutes. On the way home we took the 7 train into MoMa PS1 in Long Island City (Western Queens) to see a show and it was a $12 taxi ride back to hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. Big TV. Free WIFI in room and all of hotel worked great. Beds were comfortable and the room was quiet (it was a Saturday night.) Next morning 6am - 10 am is continental breakfast. It was really good!! Moist and yummy cinnamon rolls, oatmeal with almonds and honey, chobani greek yogurt, sausage and eggs with biscuits, fresh fruit, juice, pastries, bagels, hard boiled eggs, made to order pancakes... the lady was cleaning the tables all morning and keeping things stocked fresh. Super clean.
I definitely recommend this place as an affordable place to stay and visit the city.

I just recently made a reservation in Holiday Inn Express at Maspeth NY and is sad that I haven’t even stay yet and I’m already having a bad experience. This is a special occasion for my family where for the first time ever my brothers and sisters will be together celebrating my niece birthday, besides is the first time of some of my sisters in NY, so I made and extensive research of hotels base on their location for what we had plan for the weekend. So I called a various time to the reservation agent to inquire about certain things that I needed for this trip and were important. First I couldn’t get in touch with the hotel because their phone line weren’t working, there is not transportation from JFK airport which they said they had, there is no transportation back from the train station which of course they said they had. Literally 2 minutes after I made the reservation I called guest relation, which by the way is no help at all, they can’t do anything for you since the hotels are independelly own so all they do is email the hotel and wait for them to call you with in 48 hrs. For me it has been so far 192 hrs. because I’m still waiting for it. Even the guest relation manager couldn’t contact the hotel because of their phone issues. I even had to send my sister to pass by to see if I could get any assistant but nothing. What frustrates me is the inconsistence in delivering the right information. This is my first time staying with Holyday Inn Express and the last. This should be a place where you feel like home away from home, and is no funs knowing that if a situation comes across, there is no intention of help me resolve it. Meanwhile me and my family have to plan to incur in to extra expenses for services they are providing, which the reservation agent and different time said they did. And I cant even post a review in their site because I have stayed yet....

Decent hotel little older and run down, but the hotel was nice. When checking in the guy working the desk took an inordinate amount of phone calls while I stood there (3 different calls) and never offered me my reward or said thank you. There is nothing within walking distance to do except BP and McDonald's

This is a great option if you're visiting NY!! hotel is not really far from Manhattan since there's a shuttle that take you to the nearest subway station every hour and once you've took the train you'll be at the big apple in no more than 30 min. Although there's no an hotel-return shuttle from the subway station, there're a couple of choices you can take according to your budget. The first is taking a cab that will charge you no up to 11 usd or you can take the Q59 bus that will leave you at only 3 blocks far from the hotel and you can use your metro card also!!!! Shuttle's driver is so kind and helpful thanks Hector for your supporting that help us to save some bucks!!! Definitely will return
