Dr. Hirschfeld has been my eye doctor for more than 10 years now. He was the only doctor that recommended I protect my good eye from any possible accidents. Now my wife see him as well and well strongly suggest you do the same. Very pleasant and professional staff all around.

This review is for the optometrist Miss Syden in this office. Summary: 10 months of back and forth, Unprofessional, confrontational, not-patient oriented, and does not hold accountability for when she miscommunicates.

Appt #1 9/2014 scheduled with Dr. Hirschfield. Waited 1.5 hrs and was examined by an optometrist, Syden. She said she put in an order for two types of contact lenses so I can try both and purchase whichever was more comfortable. Paid $150 upfront for the lenses as requested.

Appt #2 (3 weeks later) scheduled with optometrist to try on new contact lenses, which should have arrived a week ago. Waited 15mins, hooray! She asks how the contacts were, not realizing I was here to receive them and comments I could have come to pick them up last week. She said she'll go get them. She walks up and down the hall a couple times while I wait. Verdict? "Sorry, it never arrived." Blames the front desk for not letting me know. Yeah.... Go home empty handed and time wasted.

Visit #3. Received call to pick up the lenses. I arrive, and it's only one pair. Not two.... I ask them to check with opto. It's just one trial lense. Where did the other one go? I take it and try them on at home. Doesn't fit right. ... It's now 12/2014, about 3 months have passed since my first visit, and not a single call to see how the contacts fit or to make an appt.

So I posted the above review on Google+ and received a call the following day from the optometrist, Syden. She apologizes and tells me she'll get me the right contact lenses, and for the next couple months, I drive back another couple times to the office to pick up the trial lenses.

Ten months later 6/2015, we're finally ready to order, and Syden tells me I need to pay $79/box for the contact lense of choice. Wait, wait. I paid $150 upfront in last Sept for the contact lense! Syden's story suddenly changed to she never said that the $150 was for the contact lenses months earlier. Apparently it was for the contact lenses fitting. She starts yelling at me that it was my fault it took this long, saying how great she was with me (despite mis-ordering contact lenses - for example it'd be both for both left eyes or one is still en route).. and that I posted the Google review last Dec without giving her a chance to follow up! I said I gave you THREE MONTHS before posting that review, are you kidding?! For me to drive out to this location for trial lenses and be told it's not there, or it's both for the left eye, or etc.... oh my lord... enough already. I just told her to mail me the prescription. She had totally got my heart rate up, and I told her she's made it very clear by her horrendous behavior that I will never ever go to this office or recommend this office.

I'm going back to Pearl Vision on North Blvd with Dr Cho. Free parking and all about the patient! Not worth it for a pair of contact lenses. He got me the same lenses for $50/box.

I have been a patient of Dr. H for over 10 years and I have been nothing but happy with him as my doctor. The staff is always well informed and eager to help me with any questions I have. I'm even considering having LASIK with him because a friend of mine had it and her vision is perfect now. I can't wait to never wear glasses or contacts again!

I had a tear duct infection.

First Visit: waited for one hour to see an incompetent assistant that could not explain anything properly. The doctor said i needed antibiotics and another appointment. If the condition did not improve in 2 days then he would need to drain the abscess. The doctor was nice but didn't know which medicine to prescribe.Waited another half hour for the prescription. They messed up the prescription and had to call it in again.

Second visit: waited for over two hours and it would have been longer if the lady before me had not left in frustration. Many patients with later appointment went before me. Finally I saw an assistant who was more competent and informed me that the doctor would go through with the procedure - even though he didn't come to see if it was doing better. Then i waited for another half hour. hen i was brought into a room and put in a reclined chair with my head back. The assistant said he would be right in so i should wait like that. After 20 mins the blood was rushing to my head and i was very uncomfortable. I left the office in frustration. I called the office IMMEDIATELY after and they would not let me speak to the doctor. They said he had left for the day, which is impossible because there were still patients there when i left and he was about to see me for a procedure.

DON'T USE THIS OVERBOOKED MONEYHUNGRY DOCTOR WITH TERRIBLE ASSISTANTS!
