Awesome diner!! Not one of these Mega-Greek style diners, Long Island is famous for. Real homemade food, not the prepackage Restaurant Depot garbage that almost every restaurant and diner on Long Island uses.
Found the place through a Google search for diners and what a great surprise. Real, real homemade food in human portion sizes. One of the best burgers ever!!! The food here is made with love and care, totally recommend it. Try a cheese burger and fries with a chocolate malted! Also the chicken soup is amazing. Great place very friendly staff. Next time to try some of the other dishes, Lasagna maybe?

The best thing here is a black and white ice cream soda. This has not changed in over 50 years.

Nobody makes these correctly anymore, except Hildebrandt's. The secret is that they make their own syrup, never mind the home-made ice cream.

Ordered a BLT and a Tuna melt. The BLT was good but the tuna was bad, not fresh and fishy tasting.I told who I think is the owner and instead of apologizing and offering to make us something else she defended the dish and said that the chef makes it fresh everyday. Let me tell you, I know what fresh tuna taste like and that aint it. The sandwich was removed from the bill. The gentleman that waited on us initially who I imagine to be the husband or part owner of the business demeanor quickly changed from cheerful and accommodating to very cold as I was paying him at the cashier counter. I may have gone back even though this particular dish was not good but they got the whole customer service thing all wrong. I work in retail, believe me I know.

This restaurant was on Diner, Drive ins and Dives so we decided to check it out. First of all, the place had a horrible stench. We should have walked out but we gave them the benefit of the doubt. After all, Guy Fieri gave them high praises. The workers walked around like zombies not even smiling or talking. The ambiance was very depressing. Our food arrived at our table minutes after we ordered it as if it were sitting in a warmer or microwaved. Very pricey and mediocre food. Nothing like we saw on tv. We couldn't take anymore disappointments so we agreed to pay the bill and exit. We didn't even order ice cream which was why we decided to go there in the first place.

This is THE place to for a burger on Long Island. Also get a black and white malted milkshake, truly first class. The decor is super casual, 50's style vintage, its close seating, its loud, and it is a classic experience. Took the kids there, one dumped a full milkshake on the floor, the waiter with the long pony tail was totally cool and friendly about it. Get there early or you could face a long wait. A+ taste.
