I was a bit nervous because this spa is not in a "traditional" spa building but the space is so beautiful. It is a real spa in every sense of the word. I received a summer themed pedicure and it lasted for 2 weeks and my feet were so relaxed. They used citrus and orange slices in the water and the scrub smelled delicious. I did not want to take my feet out! I usually hesistate to get a spa pedicure since you can go to those cheap salons and get it for $15 but those do not last and you cannot gaurantee the hygenie. You have to climb regular stairs to enter the spa. Other than that I am signing up for the $50 month year long membership. You cannot get a good massage or facial for $50 anywhere in NYC. Believe me as a spa addict I have looked. You can only get those express mini facial and they do not use good products. -April

I found Hibiscus Day Spa while searching for black-owned Brooklyn spa to treat myself to on my birthday and ended up having the most wonderful spa experience of my life. It was completely unpretentious (though well decorated with afrocentric art and fixtures) and welcoming -- The owner greeted me offered me tea and chatted with me in genuine interest until it was time for my appointment.

From the time I entered the door things were great. The rich aroma of the massage oils warmed the house. And the massage rooms are actually the many rooms of a lovely brownstone. I have been to many spas, but my 60 deep tissue massage (by Rosa) was THE BEST ever. She's got a blessed touch and deserves a trophy of some kind. They even oiled my locs and scalp with the best smelling oil that everyone I met commented on later. To make things even more special, the owner even left me a little gift. I would recommend this place to ANY and EVERYONE looking for genuine relaxation and invigoration. And will be going back again very soon.
