Love this place! Come early on Saturdays as the line gets long. If only they were open on Sundays, I would rent even more often!

I have used this Hertz many times over the last two years and am rarely disappointed. I always book in advance online. There was one time where I arrived to pick up a rental scheduled for a 11:30AM pickup on a Saturday and had to wait for about an hour because someone was late returning a rental, that sucked but it only happened once. One time I was assigned a car that was absolutely awful - I couldn't figure out where any of the controls were for the radio or air conditioning, and they gave me a free upgrade to a different car. The location is a little clandestine *but* it's close to the Exchange Place PATH and HBLR stations so it's easy to get home once you've dropped off he rental.

Prepaid in advance on Hertz web site (nonrefundable) for Prestige Collection SUV, which I needed for lake house weekend on winding mountain roads. Instead was given a Chrysler 300 sedan and told I can go to Newark airport if I really need SUV. Was not offered a rate change although the difference between K4 (Prestige) and I class is presently $50 / day. When I insisted on some rate modification they took a total of $40 off my 4-day reservation. So I was baited and switched out of $160 by cynical Hertz policies and inventory management. I strongly discourage people from using this location and I advise to NEVER EVER sell your cancellation optionality for their prepaid discount. Even the final receipt acknowledged I paid a K4 (high) rate but was given an I class (much worse) reservation.
One star because the staff at this location can be pretty nice, and they seem to get how fraudulent and cynical Hertz practices are but can't do much about them.

I rent from Hertz regularly and I am definitely used to different level of service. The rental area is not signed at all and you have to search for it. The staff was friendly, but did not show me the car, just sent me "over there". When I insisted, suddenly it was no problem to guide me throu the car.

First of all, they have no signs that indicate the rental area; it took me longer than necessary to locate the office. Second, not only were they rude, but they didn't even tell us which car was ours. They just said "it's over there" and gave us the keys. Never rent from here. Hertz should fire everyone and hire employees who actually care about doing their job at least half ass.
