Terrible, the staff are rude, they treat u like a dog, the food is whatever they put together, some of them are there just to get a pay check, they have no compassion for the homeless and mentally I'll..its very sad...they mix the mentally I'll with sane people which is not safe, the food is cold old and not enough, the staff..not all but most are very difficult to talk too, the shelter is in a very dangerous area where its a how stroll out side..maybe if the staff wasn't so rude to you it would make things go a little smoother its sad and they don't care

Horrendous place. I went to investigate and there was a police woman (I suppose that what it was) approached me like I was an animal and talked to me like I had a tail. "Where are you from!" "Have you been in a shelter before" No, I said quietly. "Well if you have and we run your name it will come up" I repeated "No". I went to investigate...because my situation could put me there. the woman who came out after her wasn't any better. Everyone who comes to a shelter is not a criminal...and being in a situation is not a crime. I can understand being stern and that they deal with combative and crazy people, but she was clearly trying to intimidate and disrespect. Has nothing to do with New York but everything do to with the fact that they have no respect for people and they forget that one day can put them in need. That's all I have to say. Delete this if you want. It's the truth and I'm not afraid to speak it. I threw the paper they gave me in the garbage and will take my chances on my own.
