Hector's Place

Nothing fancy about Hector's, which serves up your typical diner fare, at reasonably cheap diner prices. I do agree with a previous reviewer about the so-called 'deluxe' burger. Mine came as a plain patty on a plain bun with a small pot of coleslaw and a quarter piece of pickle, along with a pile of fries. Were these what made it a deluxe burger? Not exactly something to go out of your way for.

Great authentic diner for local workers as well as tourists. Perfect when you are coming off the Hi Line. Friendly service, kids are welcome, great veggie-burger. Overall a welcoming atmosphere and positive experience.

This place is awful. I went in with two friends to order snacks. We had to use the restroom first so we were waiting to order after we were all settled. The owner wanted to take our order while a friend was in the restroom and we said we wanted to wait till she got back. He started yelling in our faces and accusing us that we were only there to use the restrooms (which we genuinely weren't) and started calling us awful names. He then took our cups of water and threw them across our table getting us completely soaked while screaming even louder to get out. This man is absolutely crazy and was very hurtful. I have never been treated like that by anyone in my entire life. What an awful person and awful place. I feel bad for him. -- Do not go here.

Who makes a $10 burger deluxe that consists solely of a patty, two buns, and some fries? Hector's place. Hector's place does that. No lettuce, no tomato, no cheese, just pure disappointment.

No matter what time of day (or night) I rolled in at, eggs and coffee were always available and served just how I requested them. To a struggling writer alone in a unfamiliar city finding a place like this, so reminiscent of the cafe's back home, was a godsend.

Fairly priced food, fairly well done. What more does anyone need?
