This place is pretty lame. The actual establishment was nice, clean, and organized but the selection was poor to say the least. Most of the music available is from lame bands you'll never hear from because they're not mainstream. If that's your thing then you're in luck because that's mostly all you'll find. Moreover the staff wasn't particularly rude but not exactly inviting either. I went there once (first and last time) a few months back and when I walked in the place was empty. I was literally the only customer there and it was dead silent. When I walked in I wasn't greeted which is not a big deal except that the place is small so its a tad awkward to walk into a quiet room and for the staff to pretend not to notice you. I've gone into more welcoming shops where a hello was customary when eye contact was made. Lastly the two staff members working that night were a bit weird to say the least. One of them was wearing a slew of miniature pacifier necklaces and had a disheveled appearance about him which is not only uninviting but embarrassing. Who leaves the house like that? Seems unprofessional to dress in such a manner for work even if you do in fact work at a record store. There's far better record shops in the area with better selection and better staffing. Sorry to be harsh but I don't exactly live in close proximity of this shop and made the trip based on the reviews and I was sorely disappointed. I can only imagine some of the previous reviews we're left by employees because the shop is far too small for any type of performance except maybe a solo act on a harmonica and it's no where near the best record store in the city. Not by a loooooonng shot. Spend your money else where.

Decent record selection but not returning at all because the seller took advantage that i can barely talk english and in a second while i paid for the records i was taking he didn't returned me 20 bucks that were mine (was 65.35, give him 70.50, then saw i has 13 in my hand, offered a discount, take all the money but never returned the 20)

Wow. If you collect noise/experimental, cust punk, d-beat, industrial or metal music, you have to make a stop here. Mostly vinyl, some casettes, and just a few CDs. I ended up here because I was in the neighborhood for work and left two hours later and 15 records heavier.

Probably the best record store in New York. A well curated mix of electronic, punk, metal, and various other experimental musics. New and used stock. Occasional live shows. The staff is also extremely knowledgeable, and friendly.
