Healthcare Training Institute

I attended this school in May 2000 (Phlebotomy/EKG). It was an amazing experience, verrry rear I do reviews but seen some negative comments......my only conclusion is that they failed the program and want to blame the institution... Not everyone is ready to do these courses, firstly you got to have a passion for healthcare..the institution provide all learning materials needed, they are Verry professional, there was a weekly payment plan that was sooo beneficial. The location is perfect...Just discovered them online after calling for a copy of my certificate from 2000, i was placed on hold for less than 5mins while they did a name search and I was found in their data....If your thinking of getting into Health Care you should consider starting here.

This school is absolutely awful. The "employees" don't help at all with anything, half of them don't even know what they're doing. Their entire system of making up hours and attendance is ridiculous. Even if a student misses one day, and they have proof with a doctors note, the student still had to make up the hours. The sanitation in the school is so awful and the school is also out dated. NONE of the equipment is new or standard. Some of the professors are great but others unfortunately are not. Also, the person that deals with attendance and grades tells the students they'll be done with all courses by a certain time and then the student will still be in the school two months later. Paying the school is also a terror. The person that deals with payments will literally come in room to room and call out names of the students that have not paid the month. Bottom line is the school is unorganized, unprofessional, and completely untruthful of the way they do things in this "school". Personally I will never come back here to take anymore classes. Also; school is infested with insects such as bedbugs and ants.

I attended healthcare training institute for a year and 3 months I recently finished the course of medical assistant. I am currently employed. This has been an amazing experience the staff is so helpful and caring I learned so much and they were there to help me every step of the way. My professor was Dr. Ali. He was an amazing teacher so dedicated to his students and made sure nobody ever left class with any doubts. I took the following classes: medical terminology, phlebotomy, EKG, anatomy and physiology, pharmacy, billing and coding, and administration. After successfully completing all my classes I was placed to Intern. I learned so much. My overall experience was amazing and it helped me prepare for my job which the school helped place me in. I highly recommend anybody to attend this school.

After being at my job for ten years and getting laid off, I didn't know what I would do next. I decided I wanted a career in the Health field, but didn't know where to start. I did my research and came across HTI. I called and made an apt to come in and learn more. I met with Kim (My Adviser) and she informed me of all the different programs offered and I decided this was my next step. The Financial Aid process was really easy. Mr Bob was great and very informative with the financial Aid process he walked me through each step. I took the PCT program with Dr Khan. I don't even know where to begin with how awesome she really is. She made me feel comfortable with the material,very patient, I felt more than ready when I completed my program. HTI found me a great externship where I was able to practice everything I had learned. Once my externship was over Raisa (job placement) helped build my resume and had stayed in constant contact with me with jobs I might be interested in. Ms Christine,Ms Joy, and Paula are always so pleasant and willing to help you with any question and concerns you might have always willing to go above and beyond. I am now pleased to say that I am a PCT at Valley Hospital putting everything I learned from HTI to use.This was one of the best decisions I could have ever made and I couldn't be happier.

Don't believe the majority of the reviews you've read on Google. There are other individuals accounting their experience from HTI on Yelp—check those out, too. My experience was absolutely dismal. Downright awful. I had to pay for my own parking permit, books, and certificate. Those commodities SHOULD HAVE been included with the tuition, but no, HTI tries to suck your wallet dry. Furthermore, I wasn't even considered for job placement. Fortunately, I was hired with my site of externship, but after complications arose, I expected Healthcare Training Institute to deliver on their behalf. They (particularly Raisa) never called once to consider discussing future job opportunities, ergo, THE SCHOOL JUST DOESN'T CARE. I've accumulated debt in the form of a student loan and regret coming to this school. It was a waste of my time and placed a financial burden on my shoulders. How do they expect to me to pay off a student loan WHEN I DON'T EVEN HAVE A JOB IN THE FIELD THAT I STUDIED FOR? SERIOUSLY? AND YOU CALL THAT "Your success is our goal!" as per their slogan? Do yourself the favor, and AVOID this school at all costs. Literally. Don't even attend their open house because they will lure you in like a salesman. All they have is the green $$$ in their eyes.
