Harvest Community Church

Harvest Church has been in existence since 1995 and has made a major positive impact on this community and the lives of many people. Through sound Biblical teaching, outreach programs, and a loving family atmosphere, Harvest Church lifts up a standard and empowers people toward their destinies. It has faced great opposition because of its stand and yet continues to reach out with grace and integrity. Through programs such as tutoring, after-school programs, English classes, creative arts training, sports camps, short-term missions and more, many individuals have an opportunity to serve and to be served. Worship is contemporary and relevant, fellowship is genuine, outreach is exciting and engaging, and teaching is scriptural. Highly recommended to anyone searching for truth and authenticity in faith.

The leadership of this church is very unhealthy and incredibly invasive in the lives of anyone who attends here. Most that I have talked to call it a "cult". From personal experience at the church it is a cult. The "senior" pastor had very unhealthy relationships with several of the young women, and the church almost divided because of it. Although no longer living in NY, he still maintains puppet leadership that he is able to manipulate to run the church his way. The "church" is a mission church and is kept in quasi-relationship with the Church of God denomination. When the leadership of the denomination agrees with a decision the of the "senior" pastor then the church is part of the denomination. When the leadership of the denomination doesn't agree, then the "senior" pastor would use the "We're a mission church" excuse and rejected the authority of the denomination. The congregants were wonderful people. I would never recommend this church to anyone.
