My wife and I recently added a full bathroom to our home. We made many sacrifices saving money for this addition. We know the value of the dollar, and we wanted to keep our money near home by supporting local businesses and manufacturers.
Since we had the money to splurge, we decided to support Hardware Designs. The first appointment was spent with a woman that tried to work with our generous and realistic budget. She was unable to keep our budget. After playing with the numbers, my wife and I found we could afford some of the items we saw at the store.
I contacted the woman via email. And waited. Weeks later, I received an email from Hardware Designs explaining the woman was no longer with the company and my account was forwarded to a new salesperson. I emailed the salesperson with an explanation of what I wanted to purchase and asked him to contact me at his earliest convenience.
It’s been months; I’ve never received a phone call or email. It’s my guess that the small pittance of money my wife and I had to offer this store (thousands of dollars) was not enough to capture the interest of this upscale, high-end boutique.
Another local merchant was happy to help my wife and I have the bathroom we worked so hard for.
