Worst service I have ever seen. No refills on dishes or drinks on their "all you can eat." Not a single plate cleared. And even asked for a 15% tip after I gave them 12% for their terrible service.

Their new dim sum service.. Absolutely terrible. I would go as far as to say that the food here is the worst dim sum in all of Brooklyn. Service? None. Their design of the restaurant is borderline dysfunctional. Waiters and waitresses can't get to you and even if you wave and yell, you'll still have to wait 15 minutes until they come. They weren't busy today either.
I would seriously considering going somewhere else for your dim sum if you're looking.

I came here with fiancé and we ordered the hot pot special which for $20 per person is a great deal. The selections were abundant and very delicious. Also included with this deal is the salad bar which we also sampled and found to be a nice amenity to the special.
What I did not enjoy was the service, particularly how I was ignored by some of the wait staff while my fiancé received the care and attention throughout our time at Hangout. I am black while my fiancé is latina (although she can easily pass for caucasian) and with exception to our primary server, Kelly (very nice and excellent at making sure our questions and other needs were satisfied), the other male servers continuously ignored me and only paid attention to her. They asked her if everything is okay, asked her if she needed a fork (she didn't as she is a master in the use of chopsticks), and helped her complete her menu selections. No attention was given to me unless she directed a question toward me that was originally asked of her. Even after that, most times I was still ignored by the wait staff.
I'm torn between coming back to this restaurant and never setting foot in there again. The hot pot was fantastic and Kelly (Liu?) was great, as well! That said, I believe that, internally, Hangout 58 needs to do a reexamination of how it treats ALL of its patrons. I spend the same money as everyone else, tip generously, and show my appreciation of good service by becoming a repeat customer that spends those same hard-earned dollars.
Hangout 58, I MAY return again but it would expect a completely different and more positive experience on that second trip to not make it my last.
