The only reason I give one star is because I left without pain, and that the office staff and doctor had decent bedside manner. I am thankful that I only needed a filling and nothing more.
I have Obamacare insurance. I am grateful that it has dental coverage. At the same time, I feel that this office which is located in a lower income area does not treat their patients with the same level of care because they accept lower rates from the less desirable insurances.
The dental procedure rooms were DIRTY. The lead apron was cracked and smelled like they had never been wiped with anything to even attempt to clean them. I was too afraid to even look at the instruments.
The dentist did not review my X-rays with me, except telling me that I had a cavity underneath a filling. The office manager, who helped the student assistant take my X-rays was the person who told me I had a cavity. Perhaps she had the schooling to tell me this, but it seemed unprofessional for her to be diagnosing my issue outright. Upon starting the procedure, it felt like the largest bur was used to drill away much of my tooth. On other occasions, my previous dentist would use instruments to remove decay, not simply drill away. The final polishing of the filling and the teeth she adjusted for my bite was never done. My teeth feel like sand paper, even a week later. At the end of the procedure, the dentist said I was done and that I should come back for a cleaning, no other instructions.
Personally, I will not be going back to this office except to pick up my records. I sincerely hope that they read these reviews and better serve their community and patients.
