Everything we ordered was amazing, but my highlight is their desert.. I don't know how it's called, it's a cheesey yummy thing... I'll definitely come back for this.

To list every amazing thing we had experienced last evening here: oolong tea, pork hot pot, grilled pig feet, chasu duck, monkfish liver, garlic fried rice, green tea tofu, caramel brûlée, black sesame ice cream. Dishes are authentic, comfortable, yet very sophisticated. On the table (and with duck and fish liver) is Hakata's signature Yuzu (grapefruit) sauce which is so good with rice!

Friendly staff. Food provided in very nice Japanese style presentation. Food very flavorable. Space with limited table, best to make reservations ahead of time. There was crowd of people waiting outside to eat at the restaurant.

Hakata Tonton is one of the best restaurants in NYC in any price category! You could pay double elsewhere and not be as impressed with the creative and amazingly delicious dishes here. The service is always great and very helpful. Especially with the opening of their second dining room, do not wait to try this place and be adventurous with trying new foods. Do it!
