I've been going there for six years and have always gotten great haircuts from Alex and his staff. They are always friendly and in good spirits and make the half hour fly by.

Right at the #1 Christopher Street station is this boite of a salon. Open, Professional and friendly, without an inch of wasted space.
Ask for Kevin Coyne, a good listener and gently humorous and a highlights expert. I have followed him through the Village, from Mingus to SoHo Salon to Great Jones Spa to here. He just gets better.
Village secret: He does awesome kid's hair--he has done my daughter for 8 years and my son for 4.

This is a great shop right in the middle of the village. Alex and his staff are great. The shop has no attitude, a good dose of humor and is not pretentious. The prices are reasonable and the cuts are sick. Whether you're in town visiting, just moved or looking around I enthusiastically recommend Hairhoppers.
