Haiban Inn Hotel (Lodge)

Good place to stay in Newark Ave. Very decent and well maintained, friendly staff. Recommended if you are looking for a place that's reasonably priced, in new Jersey

I really liked the place and its location in the Indian street (Newark Ave). The staff were helpful and the place looked well maintained. Rooms looked spacious and seemed larger than norm. Its been my first time here, and I chose due to its location (near to path station, and many amenities that one may need away on a trip)

This is not a professional establishment. The hot water didn't work, they kept pushing us to sign without being transparent about the cost and fees, and the "staff" tried to get into the room without knocking (I heard the two men try turning the knob without knocking first). There was broken glass on the floor. It is a scam. Please do not go here for your safety.

We visited the Haibann Inn in Jersey City based on favorable google reviews. The accomodations were so terrible that we left while they were still tryng to get hot water in our room. While parking our car in their make-shift parking garages the glass on the garage door shattered because the door was jammed. The hotel staff were dressed in street clothes and attempted to open the door without knocking. The room smelled very strongly of knock-off pine-sol cleaner. One of the doors on the wardrobe was missing and the drawers were crooked. The desk clerk was pushy when we asked to see the breakdown of the price which came out to be $100 that included state tax and "accomodation tax." Overall we feel scammed and wound up at the Double Tree Hilton.

When I checked in the staff was very friendly, however once I was escorted to my room I was greeted with two trash cans full of used, crumpled up toilet paper, along with used towells all over the floor of the bathroom. I understand mistakes happen so I called down and the staff quickly came up to clean the rest of the mess. The manager on site was apologetic and agreed to open up the coffee station for us early the next morning since we were the organizers of a large for charity crickey tournament to send under privledged children to school. A few hours later that manager was gone and the owner was manning the desk. I told the manager that we were thankful that they will have the coffee for us at 6:30, but he was very rude and cold. He stated that it is his motel and he will open up the coffee at 7. "No one tells me when I do what and when I do it". this really set us off considering the events that happened. Overall the rooms are not too bad, but the room was very dirty and dusty, and the owner's personality is defintely cause for concern. Unless something drastic happens I do not think I will be coming back here again.
