Aside from the absolutely fantastic location, there isn't much that stands out about Grove Pointe. The rent isn't extremely high, but it's not cheap either. (Don't forget that rent goes up each year everywhere, so eventually everyone has to move. I'd call this one affordable for 2-3 years, after that you should get a better deal elsewhere). The building is in decent shape, but not great. The neighborhood has been revitalized with a new pedestrian plaza.
The city skyline views are disappearing (can still see the new WTC, but not the Empire State building anymore) with the new, NOISY NOISY construction going on (6a-6p!), but the windows are so dirty you wouldn't be able to see it anyway. You can't hear most of the neighbors, but you can smell their cooking. There are a lot of dogs and babies here. A lot. Dogs and babies. Lots of dogs and babies. They make the building smell like dogs and babies.
Large windows are an energy suck as glass is not a good insulating material.

what i love about the building,
1) the STAFF - management office (Julie), front desk (Will, Anthony and Tiaise) and the cleaning lady (Giselle) are exceptionally helpful and caring!
AND
2) You simply cannot beat the convenience to PATH :)
having said this (and to ensure this is a completely unbiased review), there are also a few things that could use improvement,
-windows need cleaning and wifi in amenity room is hit or miss
On the whole, I def. recommend the building due to the friendly staff and of course, convenience to the PATH :)

My husband and I have lived here for almost three years! The apartments are reasonably priced for the area, the management is pretty responsive (we have never waited more than 24 hours for something to be fixed). Our electric bill if pretty reasonable, and the location is incredible (less than 200 ft from the PATH Grove Street Station! I work in the East village (14th and 3rd Ave) and it takes me less than 30 minutes door to door to get to my office. Only downside is that you pay an extra amenities fee (like most high rise buildings in downtown JC) and the pool is only open from memorial day to labor day, even if it is hot throughout September. Overall, fantastic place to live in downtown JC.

One of the best places to rent around new port/grove street area.
The best part is the location, close to everything: restaurants, pharmacy, path..
Building management is also very responsive and takes care of anything that needs to be fixed promptly. Front desk is very friendly too, and residents in the building are nice too. I have stayed in other rentals around New port before this, but this is by far the best.
