Let's keep it real if your black you know how greenpoint is very racist and for a public library the people act no different and because of that I stop going it's a public library not "a polish or white only library". I try not to worry about people but I'm sure any one when they come to any public place wants to feel welcome not like people are looking at you funny or running away because your black thats stupidity & its very hurtful especially in this day in age come on have people forgot who' s in the white house. the staff are helpful some are even black suprise. One table with an outlet but most libraries do that anyway. the only thing i really like about this library are the computers they have so you can do returns, renew books or movies and find out info about your library card on your own all the librares should have that. honestly this not a comfortable library were as a black person I feel welcome or other black people should go I barley see any on top of that if greenpoint would stop being so racist it would probably be a better place but that won't change because people won't this is truly how I see it and feel don't like it I don't care

This library has only one table with plugs for computer usage and eight chairs around it, yet the table would never fit that many people with computers. It might fit eight people with cellphones, if they were all small people comfortable having their chairs touch. The table realistically fits three people with computers and is almost always crowded. The wifi at this library is often not working which is another big problem. The Starbucks on Manhattan Ave is constantly overcrowded with people setting up office which speaks to the fact that the library is not providing a sufficient service to the public. It is odd that the 2014 budget will give $107,000 to create an ice rink in McCarren Park, yet our library sits in this condition. The building is ripe to build a second floor and allot space for the children's section separate from a section where people can read, research, and use the libraries' computers or their laptops. This library needs to emerge from the early 1990s, where it seems to be stuck, and become a better resource for the Greenpoint neighborhood.

We love this library. The staff are friendly and helpful. The children's book and DVD selections are great.
