Was overcharged on a simple repair. After stripping my crank arm... "Oh we has to use a special part to get it off" Give me a break! Would not go there again or recommend anyone going there...

The people who helped me here were nice and not elitist as I've found at other bike shops. They were very very helpful and did a lot of unquantifiable labor for me that they didn't even charge for. Good thing they have a tip jar...

These guys are awesome! I was borrowing a bike and crashed it so hard I bent the front forks. The bike was a kind of rare French fixed gear so I was worried. Took it to Greenpoint bikes and they fixed it in one night for $62. They had a set of used forks in the back that were perfect, swapped them out, put on new brake pads since the bike needed that anyway, and called me to say it was ready. I wish all bike shops were like this place.

I had a crash during Bike New York on SUNDAY May 5th 2013. My front wheel was in the shape of an L. Smart phone indicated they were onlty a couple of blocks away from the crash scene.. We did not have to wait and they did a great job of getting me back on the road. Expensive..yes but who expects cheap on a Sunday emergency? It was clear they knew what they were doing and I'd return.

The guys who work there, as long as you know how to speak to them, are usually pretty nice. They're a little socially awkward, but hey aren't most people that work in bike shops? I have two very big gripes. It's true what the other reviewers say, these guys are very expensive. I had my bike tuned up; granted they had to replace some parts, the chain for instance. It ended up being almost $150. Now, I can do some things on my own to repair my bike, but for the things I can't do, this price seems a little extreme. It's like they know I can't do certain things, so they've got me by the short hairs. Oh well, fine, I'll pay it, I just want my bike to function 100%. Well, it did function that way for a few weeks, and then the brand new expensive chain that they installed hopped off the gears and got jammed in the pedal area. I don't know if the chain is of low quality, or the installation was shoddy, but that's $150 down the tube seeing as how I now have to get a new chain because that one is bent and ruined. Anyway, point is, if you're going to charge as much as you do, you damn well make sure your work doesn't brake a few weeks later.
