Reviews to Great Bear Tire & Automotive Diagnostic Center
Went to get new tires put on and had to go back because of a slow leak. They put in a new battery and it was dead after a month. Car wasn't turning on, they fixed the problem and it broke down again 3 weeks later.
While the owner seems friendly it's just a ploy to create unnecessary work and tack on high prices. Needed more work done but decided they are not trustworthy.

As we all know it's very hard to find a good repair shop that we can trust! So here we find one. Very professional, nice and helpful service! I definitely recommend this place!

If you're looking for an affordable, honest, and fair mechanic in NYC, look no further than Great Bear Tire & Auto.
My family has been bringing our vehicles to Tommy at Great Bear for years, and not once has he let us down. Tommy and his crew are very thorough in their assessments and work, and will let you know what needs to be done immediately, and what can be postponed if doing everything in one shot isn't in your budget.
With the tools, diagnostic equipment, and experience to work on a wide range of domestics and imports, including some of the more rare finds, at a fraction of the dealer's prices, bringing your ride here is a no-brainer.

I've been going to Great Bear since being recommended from Tire Rack for over two years now. Tommy is very attentive, straightforward and honest about how long his service may take. I've been treated with care and respect and I appreciate that from a car maintenance service.

I've used Great Bear for my Geico Insurance Inspection, my NY State inspection (x3), an oil change, to fix my right rear tire, and diagnostic of other areas on my car. BMW 135 Convertible and now 335is Convertible.
I dealt with Tommy whom is a manager. Very polite and straight forward. I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes to get attention, which is ok by me. The shop is a smaller operation. If they had more staff, the costs would be higher. 10 to 15 minutes of waiting for the cost I've paid is extremely acceptable to me.
Competitive pricing. I think most mechanics know that people shop their bids. The prices have been very fair in terms of pricing I have received before.
I can definitely recommend the place if you are looking for fair service, at good prices.
I'm reading some of the other reviews. It's kinda funny, like I said, there is a bit of a wait, but you forgot to factor that Great Beat charges 90 dollars for labor / per hour, while BMW used to charge me 120 dollars in labor / per hour (to cover their greater number of managers / mechanics / down time).
