This is the best, of many very good, tennis shops & high quality, racquet stringing establishments in New York City. Centrally located, the staff are extremely knowledgeable, dependable and a pleasure to work with. We are a tennis playing family and Grand Central Racquets strings all of our racquets and has been our primary source of tennis equipment and accessories for over a decade. More than just a shop, Woody has successfully built the gem of tennis retailing in New York, evidenced by his recent expansion with the much larger location at 157 West 35th Street in addition to the shop at the National Tennis Center. Mark Teague works closely with us to make sure our equipment is optimized for the courts, so much so, that we consider him our "Primary Care Physician" for tennis. Mark serves as a trusted adviser on every aspect of equipment and has been a indispensable resource. Our son is moving rapidly up the standings of the his age group in the Eastern Section of the USTA and we consider Woody, Mark and the people at Grand Central Racquet genuine partners in his success.
