This place is a wonderful spot in Dumbo! The ambiance is great and the food is excellent. We've been here twice now and I have to start with what is usually the last part of the meal, dessert. The churros are a must have. They are sweet, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside covered with a delicious chocolate sauce.
For the starters, I am not a huge fan of the guacamole. I like it with the pepitas (toasted pumpkin seeds) but it seems to always lack salt and have a little too much lime. I tend to like my guacamole spicier. They did have a really good special the other day, a spinach and cheese gordita which was really really good!
I've tried a few different mains, the chorizo con papas quesadilla is a must have. It is cheesy, the chorizo is very tasty and the green sauce they serve with it is really good. The Suadero tacos (brisket) are excellent, they only give you 2 per serving and you'll want to order 2 more they are so good. The chicken tacos were also really good but the quesadilla and suadero tacos stole the show for entrees. As a side I highly, highly recommend the crispy sweet potatoes. They are served with a chipotle mayo dipping sauce and I would definitely go back for those.
Buen Provecho!

What a fantastic find around the corner from all the chaos. Tacos, tacos and more tacos and more. Looks like just a small bar from the front steps, but keep walking back and you enter a little garden oasis on the bottom floor. Food, servers, atmosphere a total win win. We had the Tacos Lengua and the Chorizo con Papas Quesadillas. Your mouth will water as they serve your plate. Funny, for us older folks with eyesight going a bit, the menu was a bit difficult to read with the small faint print but the servers were comical and read it out to us... Can't go wrong here.

My wife and I asked for Torta Milanesa and Cemita. They brough 2 hamburgers. WTF!!! I would like to eat some mexican food, not american trash.
Anyway, the food was delicious. But we were disappointed with the hamburgers.

Went there with my Girlfriend on the 4th of July. Great little place, the tortilla & Guacamole was fantastic, and our waitress had a great understanding of the Margaritas when we asked her about them.
My girl got the oyster mushroom quesadilla and she loved them. I got the market fish tacos. They were delicious but I was slightly disappointed in the size of the tacos. Very small. Although I'm a bigger guy, they still seemed more like an appetizer than a meal, and $7 for them, I was expecting them to be more filling.
Nonetheless, I would still recommend Gran Electrica as a place to stop in on a hot summer afternoon / evening. gets some chips n dip and a few drinks.
Tequila shots are $10 at least - watch your tab :)
