Looks like this facility is involved in price gauging together with Bayonne Hospital.
In addition to the $25,000 bill from Bayonne Hospital for an ER visit due to my broken wrist-- I received a $34,000 bill from this facility under Sean L. Lager MD for his services. Services from a doctor that never saw me nor spoke to me--- I mean I never met the man in my life.
I was seen by a Physician Assistant at Bayonne Hospital, but never by Sean L. Lager MD.
The PA attempted to perform a reduction to the best of his ability (twice), and it still was not done properly. Then again, not a surprise as a PA is not a doctor nor an orthopedist specialist. It was crazy when at one point the PA recommended I had to have surgery the next day. My wife and I were wondering how can a PA recommend such a thing when I was never even seen by an orthopedist specialist. I am so happy I did not listen to him or the people at the hospital-- I visited not one but two professional orthopedic surgeons on my own, days after my accident and both said that performing a wrist surgery the next day or same day would not be standard procedure that it is best for the swelling on the wrist and hand to subside and that surgery should take place 10 to 15 days after the incident to minimize complications.
Fast forward 4 months, am being grossly overcharged for the services I have never received directly from Sean L. Lager MD, a doctor I never even met. His pricing is outrageous. I have since researched and the the national average for the services Dr. Lager has provided is around $3,000. NOT what he and his facility is charging me. To conclude this place and its physicians are grossly negligent, grossly unprofessional and evidently money hungry.
