Reviews to Good Fortune Supermarket - Brooklyn
This supermarket use to be a movie theater (I need to find out when the theater closed down). It is huge for Brooklyn standards. I love the Japanese snacks and condiments they have here. Although my wife complained it is pretty stinky in some areas as well.

Standard Chinese supermarket fare. Bottom barrel prices for raw meat and seafood, imported sweets, dried and canned foods from all over Asia, fully stocked freezes with buns and noodles and more strange fruit than you know what to do with.

Prices are awesome, selection is staggering! Best assortment and variety of fresh and exotic produce you could imagine. Prices are less than half of conventional grocers. Items are fresh and turn over rapidly to the throngs of Asian customers. It is crowded and most partrons are lacking conventional courtesies of the western world, but don't let that deter you. Cashiers are super efficient, speak English, and you can coax a smile from them if you try. The meats are good, the seafood is wondrously incomprehensible in its variety of never-seen-in-the-west fish and sea critters. I like shopping here more than anyplace in the world. If price matters, this is it! But it is not the place to buy conventional western foods -- short selection and high prices on that. Stick to fresh foods and the aisles of imported Asian specialties. Each visit is like a Fellini movie dream sequence!
