I had a recent move from Boston down to a 2 bedroom apartment in NYC. I had done some research but a friend of mine suggested I hire global 1 movers because they are extremely professional and handle all items with extreme care. The workers showed up on time and did an excellent job packaging up all of my items. When they arrived to my new residence everything was perfect NO Scratches or dents to ANY of my belongings! Global 1 Movers are the best!! They are hard working professional movers with excellent experience and always on time!! Thank you Global 1 Movers you made my move so much easier for me and my family!!

I had a recent move from Southampton,NY to Alpine,NJ. It was a 5 bedroom 4 bathroom house and I needed help with packing all of my belongings up. I called Global One Movers based upon a recommendation and spoke to Eric Bar from the office about my move. Eric was extremely helpful in the reservation processing answered all of my questions. The date of my move the truck showed up on time, the guys did a great job packing all my belongings and nothing was damaged and was not scratched upon delivery. They were efficient, prompt, and extremely professional and I highly recommend them for any move large or small.

This move was a nightmare. Dianne is probably one of the worst customer service person I have encountered in my life.

1) A week before my actual move (Saturday), I had requested for a later time since my building in NYC did allow the freight elevator to be used before noon. Dianne immediately told me call me on Monday. I did and Eric confirmed a later time and sent me a new invoice with the later time.

2) On the day of the move, the movers call me at 8:30am and tell me that they are 15 minutes away. I inform them of the later time and send them a picture of my invoice as well. They refuse to come back at a later time. I ask them to hold while I speak to Dianne

3) I call Diane and before I am even finished completing my sentence she tells me she will call me back

4) I wait 15 minutes and she does not call me back so I call her. While I am on the phone, the movers tell me they are inside my apartment - I am not in my apartment and my roommate had let them in. I request them to leave - they refuse

5) I ask Dianne to tell the movers to LEAVE my apartment (understand that I am very frustrated at this point since I am not in that apartment). She, instead started tell me how they don't work on Saturdays, the movers are NOT going to leave (something about NYC tolls), and that I should hire another service. Their Yelp page clearly states that they work over the weekends, I was never informed of Saturday not being a working day and I had already paid my deposit 3 weeks ago for Saturday.

6) In the end, my apartment management made an exception and let me use the freight elevator before time so I facetimed the movers and instructed them to bring my stuff. This was extremely inconvenient and I would have much rather preferred to be at the location to observe how long it took them to pack and when the left NJ

7) Two men show up - one of them is in charge of just driving the truck around the block so that it doesn't get towed. Therefore, the entire move is handled by one man - Justin who was nice enough.

8) After the move is done - he starts showing me all the additional paperwork that I had NEVER seen before. It stated things like there would be an extra charge for moving it more than 50m within the building, tape and plastic.

9) I end up paying much more than what was in the invoice but at this point I just wanted this nightmare to be over even if it meant losing money.

This was my first move without the help of my parents and I was moving into NYC for the first time. Thanks to Global 1 Movers, I'll always remember my first independent move as a disastrous one.

Global 1 Movers were great. Eric was quick to get respond to my numerous questions and the movers were professional and fast. They even took it upon themselves to move a rather large box that I was attempting to do on my own. I would still be there if they didn't help. I would recommend them to anyone looking to move.

They give you a nice quote and then send you a mover who complains about the job needing to take 14 hours instead of the negotiated 6. He said this job needed 2 trips of load and unloading. After 3 hours, they were done with the first trip of loading and unloading with time to spare for the second trip. Once he realized that his estimate of time was way off, he then tried to double the cost on us to do that second trip even though it was still within the 6 hour window of time. When i told him we were only going to pay for the 3 hours they worked, he started pulling costs for materials, etc... out of thin air, and tried to tack on an extra $300. This company should not send anyone to renegotiate an already negotiated deal. This mover even started making comments about us "wanting something for nothing" as if we were taking advantage of him, when it was their own company that gave us the negotiated deal. The mover and company tried to exploit our situation knowing we had to move, but we paid them only for the hours they worked, which was less time than what was negotiated, and had to hire another set of movers from Uhaul the next day who did a much better job and didn't stress us out during an already stressful move. Run for the hills and do not use this company. They are crooks who do not know how to run a business.
