Glen Rock City Public Library

You want to know what's disgusting? Are people who know that a place closes at a certain time and they show up just as its about to close and expect to be treated like the queen of England. Glen Rock Public Library has their hours clearly posted, and one should make adequate time to go there and take care of their needs. It's no different then going into a pizza shop and placing an order for a pie as they are about to close. Glen Rock Library has always been one of the best places when it comes to friendly and courteous staff and a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Instead of showing up late try to make time to get their at appropriate hours of operation. It's very rude to expect service from folks when someone can't respect the work that they do and when it's time for them to end their day.

Walking into the Glen Rock Public Library at 5:27pm is apparently a major issue for the snotty workers there. They were all standing around and as I walked through, rather than being greeted, I was abruptly told "we're closed". I explained how I needed just one DVD and I was aware that it was in stock (I checked online earlier). I had never been in the Glen Rock library before and it was astonishing how just because it was a couple minutes before closing, all customer service skills were completely forgotten by these employees. The one employee stormed over to the DVD section and pointed to where it would be, checked for it herself for a moment, mumbled something, which I assumed was relevant to finding the DVD, and then stormed off again. I found the DVD myself and when I told her I was all set, she continued to be annoyed and unhelpful. I checked out my DVD, was not acknowledged once I was leaving, and as another customer walked in, the same librarian trying to "help" crossed her arms and rolled her eyes. I am not sure what the issue was considering the fact that I checked the time as I walked out their doors and it was exactly 5:30pm, their ACTUAL CLOSING TIME. The employees seemed like it was the end of the world that there were actual customers and showed that through their unprofessional mannerism. My transaction took THREE MINUTES. Extremely disappointing.

Very courteous staff. Makes me realize what a powerful asset a library can be to a community. Kids really enjoy the experience and all it has to offer. There is nothing you can't find that they won't help you in obtaining. Many of the transactions can also be done remotely via web portal. Small movie selection but pretty updated. Clean and well run.

Great staff, beautiful, functional space. Marvelous children's library with good activities and events. Can be noisy at times. Great port in a storm. WiFi.
