Glass Doctor of Westchester is a great mobile service that came to my work to fix my windshield. They called in the morning with a time, and by noon my car was ready to drive. Glass Doctor was really professional too, highly recommended.

Here is a recap of my experience dealing with Glass Doctor (Westchester / Mt. Vernon) (over a period of four months!!)

Person called the night before my appointment and indicated that he would be there by 10 am. Person showed up at 4 pm with no call indicating he would be late. Provided estimate and indicated glass would be ready within 2 weeks (mind you, it was a single piece of tempered glass to put in a French door - not sure why it would take 2 weeks but I am in no rush). Paid required 50% deposit by credit card.

No response for 3 weeks - called to follow up on status. Women at office said they would have to check as she believes there was a problem with the order.

No response or return call for approx 10 days. Out of the blue, a guy calls at 3 pm, says he is nearby and asks if he can stop over to put in the glass. I indicate to him that I, like most people, work so I am not presently at home and he should have scheduled an appointment. He says he will have to check the calendar for the next available date and he will get back to me....

Two weeks later, finally schedule an appointment. Guy shows up, figures out that the glass was not properly measured when they provided the estimate. He will need to reorder but should have it within the week.

Christmas season arrives. I do not hear back from Glass Doctor for 4 weeks. When I call to see what is going on, women expresses that she assumed I was frustrated and no longer wanted the work done. I say, that's fine so why didn't you refund my deposit then?! Her tone quickly changes, "please give us another chance". Foolishly I agree...

Appointment day arrives! I take the morning off of work as they will be there between 9-12. As 1 pm rolls around, I call to see what is going on. Response: "Sorry, I forgot to call you this morning because we need to reschedule". After I ask for the refund, they say they will get someone over there that afternoon. Person never arrives, and I never receive a call.

I call back a few days later to finally try to get my refund. Women says, "well since you have waited this long, let us come there tomorrow and put it in". And why I agree to this I will never know. I say if someone is there by 9:30 am they can put it in. If not, we are done. Again, I take the early morning off from work. Wait around until 10:15 and nobody shows.

When I call back for the tenth time, the women says I will need to call back and talk to "the owner" to get my refund. She expresses no apology or gives any explanation.

Today, they indicated that they can't credit my card and will need to mail me a check. Let's just say, based on my prior experience, that I don't expect to receive a check. After a 4 month nightmare, countless calls and 2+ days of personal time spent, I have no glass and I'm out nearly $100.

Don't be a fool like I was and give this "company" any of your hard-earned $$$. They are the most unprofessional business that I have EVER dealt with.
