Gigi's Cupcakes

On my way home from Chester we stopped in not knowing these would be the best cupcakes I've ever tasted. Now I'm not the occasional cupcake eater, I have 15 extra pounds that confirm I'm a connoisseur! I live in chester, home of The Sweet Shop, 2012 winner of Food Networks Cupcake Wars and Gigi has bested the best, in my humble opinion. What I like her creative combination of flavors are bold. She has mastered the perfect icing, whipped or creamed, she's a real star. I also appreciate a cupcake that feels and tastes like a cake and not a muffin. The icings don't overpower the cake with sweetness nor can the sweetness be ignored- balance is her art. Some hide sugar in the batter to give taste when they are insecure about the icing, others make a tasteless cake (or muffin) with overly sweet icing. Not Gigi, her art and sense of balance overwhelms the senses to delight. Standing the true test, I tasted 8 flavors and I did not favor one over the others sense they were all divine in their own way.

From the moment we walked in the door, the cashier was super sweet just like their cupcakes! I said i would come back even before i tried the cupcakes solely because of how i was treated. The cupcakes are amazing, we had a hard time choosing a favorite one! We have to go back and try them all.

Great flavor but I found the actual cake to be chewy. I'm also a bit surprised by the price--$3.50 for a cupcake when I can get amazing cupcakes in Manhattan at Molly's for almost one dollar less. Too bad; Gigi's is super close to us and we're looking for a place to buy cupcakes for our son's birthday.

Gigi's Cupcakes are the best darn cupcakes in New Jersey! You have to try them! You won't regret it! Yummy!

Been there twice now, one for my moms birthday and for my girlfriends birthday cupcakes, always greeted by a friendly staff that is ready to help you. These cupcakes taste great and are decorated extremely well. They also have gluten free option too if you know someone with an intolerance. Love these cupcakes, Will be back!! Thanks for everything!
