This man Gianni should not be allowed near a head of hair. He is a fraud, and a degradation to the industry. I went to his salon the weekend before Christmas. I asked the young lady behind the counter if there was a COLORIST on staff that I could consult with. She introduced me to gianni, who went to work telling me how we would work together... blah blah blah...It was all smoke and mirrors anyway.
I wish I hadn't, OH HOW I WISH I HADN'T:( :( :( But I made an appointment with gianni for the day after Christmas. His price quote was 150.00, what I'm use to seeing as a colorist's fee (the better business bureau informs me that a hair dresser can charge what ever they want for services. go figure)
My hair was so full and healthy. I explained to gianni how this was a difficult thing for me. I had a wonderful Colorist in PA who I had been going to for the past 7 years. I told Gianni I was not ready for a hair cut. He didn't insist. My hair was so full and healthy. I had taken such care and time with it, over the years. I drove two hours every 5 weeks to get the right look and feel. Finding a colorist in the area was a big scary step for me. And our man gianni confirmed all my fears:( :( :(
I showed up to the friendly salon and listened to gianni brag on and on about himself as he did my hair. He finished my roots and the grey was gone, of course I was happy. He then explained a process that included using the ancient cap method and applying bleach to my wet hair. I was opposed. He insisted. He went into a spiel about the hair shaft and the slowing down of the absorption process blah blah blah...again, all just smoke and mirrors. He finished my hair and blew it out into, like, no style at all. I couldn't understand why he would let me leave the shop looking like i did. but it was storming n nobody was going to see me. But Jeez does the man have no pride. I left my hair alone for the night. I usually do after a coloring. The next morning when i washed it and expected it to fall into place beautifully, like it always does, I couldn't. Why? Because for 150.00 gianni had given me a chemical hair cut. I cried for the next two days. I had to calm down before I confronted this man. But he burnt the hair off my head. I reach for my hair and it is gone. This is devastating. I thought once he saw and felt my hair, shame in a job poorly done and respect for the industry would force him to give my money back. On the contrary. Gianni stood behind this work, denied any wrong doing, tried to lie about suggesting a hair cut and became intimidating. I cannot tell you how devastating it is to lose your hair like this. But having paid 150.00, for what I thought was going to be expert service...it just makes me feel so insulted, hurt...Assaulted that's it ASSAULTED. Slapped in the face. and I feel this way every time I reach for my hair and I find this shaggy mess of chemical burn:( :( :(... Blindfolded, with one hand tied behind her back, at the kitchen sink, with no hot water, my 9 year old niece could have done a better job.
I can't touch my hair without regret and tears. It's as if I suffer from a hair loss decease. I don't know how much my REAL Hairdresser is going to charge, or how upset he is going to be that I let this moron ruin my hair. But gianni owes me more than my money back. I wish that I had read Jessica's review before visiting gianni's. My heart goes out to you Jessica. And I truly believe that Universal Law will find it's way back around to this deceitful little man.
