Never really went but had a track meet there and we beat them but they show true heart when coming in compition

i had lots of fun here even though i wasn't a good student but a lot of my friends said they hated it. i loved some of my professors, and they changed who i was.

My experience here can best be described as mixed. While the best teachers I ever had in the Hewlett-Woodmere school district are all located here, some of the worst in the district are also located here. There is a nice variety of afterschool programs which are well-funded. However, the academics here are lacking. The Guidance Department provides anything but that. Their suggested schedules are generic regardless of the students' academic interests. When I filled out a transcript release form for my Westinghouse Project submission more than 2 weeks in advance, they failed to send it and my 6 weeks worth of summer research was automatically disqualified. My own guidance counselor had a very unprofessional snotty attitude. This is a sign of an understaffed department that simply doesn't care about the futures of its students. The AP programs were underfunded. Over the course of my 4 years here, several AP courses disappeared due to monetary issues. The administrative staff was pretty useless and then-Principle Joyce Bisso's petty and small-minded attitude seemed to indicate that their job descriptions emphasized power trips. While this is far from the worst high school out there, there are far better alternatives. I suggest staying away from the Hewlett-Woodmere school district in general.
