My roommate heard about this place, and we decided rather spontaneously to check this tattoo shop out a few days ago. A cursory google search revealed that Fun City Tattoo is not only one of the oldest standing tattoo shops in the city, but it is also very highly rated among reviewers and tattoo publications. I walked in on a Thursday afternoon without an appointment, and the shop was spotless yet casual.
The receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful in pairing me up with the most appropriate tattoo artist for the design I had in mind - Lorenzo. Within a few minutes, I was seated in a chair and getting prepped for my first tattoo! I found Lorenzo to be very calm, confident, and friendly. More importantly, I noticed that Lorenzo and the other artists at Fun City were extremely diligent about cleanliness and safety. Everything was sterilized before use, and all artists are expected to wear gloves throughout the entire process (see picture).
Lorenzo, as an artist, is extremely talented especially with symmetric designs involving sharp lines & geometric shapes. He also has a gentler, but still extremely precise touch with the needle. I am extremely satisfied with how the tattoo has turned out, and the quality of work is definitely worth the higher price. I plan on coming back here again for another tattoo soon!
DISCLAIMER: As in most tattoo shops, Fun City Tattoo only accepts cash, and they do not accept credit or debit cards.
