It took months for them to schedule my sons road test, with instruction the day of, using their car. When they finally set it up and the day came, they didn't process it properly or something because the person administering the road test said the school messed up and therefore he couldn't take it. They refused to compensate him for their error. They still as of yet, over a month later, have given him a new date. They don't answer their phones and now my son runs the risk of losing a job he had lined up because of it.

Great school thanks to Alex the instructor and Michelle the receptionist. Alex is the most patient man and was able to deal with me when I was scared to go behind the wheel. He helped calm me down and got me to feel more comfortable. He had more confidence in me then I did in myself. Alex is also very knowledgable and gets you more than prepared to pass your road test. As for Michelle she is a doll. She helped me by answering all my questions and was able to accomodate me with my crazy work schedule.

The receptionist is a very nice lady, she explains everything well and doesn't get angry if you ask questions and tries to help you. The instructor, Alex, is a nice guy too, he explains your mistakes, even if you think you turned correctly or you stopped correctly, listen to what he tells you, I fails my first road test because he'd tell me "your turn is wide" or "your turn is narrow" etc.. But I thought " oh, he's exaggerating" indeed he was right and got points for those mistakes, ended up failing my first road test and had to schedule new lessons with him before my second road test which I passed.
My advice:
1)Schedule road test online
Even if it is before taking the 5 hr class or driving lessons. It is free and the waiting time is usually around 2 months!! You'll save yourself sometime.
2)Take your road test in cony island, all the people I know (including me) who went to other sites failed. ( NEVER STARRET CITY, its a nightmare)
3) sign up for the 10 lessons package because you gotta pass this test!! Especially if you are a beginner, you'll need all the practice in order to pass your test. Believe me, even if it seems a lot, it's worth it
4) keep at least 1-2 lessons for the week of the test or make it a double lesson so the instructor takes takes you near the testing area to get familiar with it, in addition to one lesson on the day of the road test, right before the test.
Good luck.
