At first Forest Hill Towers was one of the better places to live in Newark, but that's not the case anymore. I am a current tenant at one of the two towers, the 555 building to be exact. When My girlfriend and I had moved in, everything was good. But after a couple of months we noticed a big change in management and staff. Before when you had a issue with anything in your apartment the building management would send someone right away to come and fix the issue. Now is nearly impossible to get anyone to come and fix anything, the reason is because there're to busy remodeling the vacant apartments, and when you submit a work order to have someone come fix your issue at your apartment, it takes days for them to come and fix anything. It comes to a point that you have to call the management office and complain is to why they haven't came and done the work order you submitted. When you do call the office management there're always giving you excuses is to why they haven't came and fix the issue. Its really annoying and stressful living under these conditions. I just think that if there're remodeling these apartments, the current tenants shouldn't suffer and deal with this non-sense. If they don't have enough workers to cover all the work orders, then go look for more people. I am pretty sure there is plenty of people looking for work. Not to mention we pay a whole lot of money for these apartments, every year they raise your rent here, I believe $50.00 to be exact. People are always moving in and out of the building,. I personally don't recommend to anyone to come and live here at all, it's not worth your money. To finish my point about the building management. I just think if you pay your rent on time and your never late, i believe that the Forest Hills Towers Management the lease they could do is come through and get these issues fixed in a timely manner. We the residents shouldn't be chasing them to have someone to come and fix. Finally, once my lease is up next year, my girlfriend and I will move out of here!!!.

Not sure what these folks are talking about but this is one the best places to live. They are constantly updating the building. I have been in New Jersey for 6 yrs. This is the only place I have lived. I have never seen a roach in the 6 yrs I have lived in the building. I saw mouse once.. I believe that was because of the cold weather and the door to the basement was left open. This place has redone the entire heating and cooling system, updated the laundry machines, updated the lobby. Anytime I have had a problem them get right on it. This place is constantly being cleaned. I have looked to move to be closer to the city but have found NOTHING the size of my place and the price. A nice 3 leaving parking deck. I don't know what others have dealt with but this is one of the best around.. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK 515 STAFF!!

Renting office staff Horrible. There is a lady in the renting office named Maria that has a horrible attitude. Indiana used to be such a pleasant person to talk to and was always willing to help. She left now all we have is someone with a horrible attitude. You can find better.

Infestation (roaches and mice),lack of proper air conditioning, during the latest heat wave, the antiquated air conditioning units did no more than a $20 window fan to cool off a tired tenant. The management which is run under a jerk by the name of Jerry does nothing to uplift the standard of living at these two bulildings A recent burst of a pipe from an air conditioning unit ruptured the wood floor. Jerry (a supposed 30 year veteran of building management) only fixed half of the floor's tiles while leaving the other ruptured tiles just the way the accident made them. In replacing the tiles in a bathroom,he replaced 2 soap dishes with tiles that were nowhere near the color of the rest of the bathroom (how idiotic is that?? The former management really cared about the tenants, and would be welcomed back with open arms, while this current jerk would be thrown off the first bridge that came along. I'm currently attempting to write the owners of the building to let them know how clueless their current management is. He would rather pay people to landscape the grounds around the building than install air conditioning that works. How he was kept on in the building management business was probably thru nepotism or cronyism
