Any time that I go into this place I always have some smartass rocket scientist trying to explain to me what can be done and what can't be done due to their policies such as if I bring my own oil or I have my own tires. ( possibly the Oil could be bad that I bring them or the filter could be wrong )Best places for the average Joe that knows nothing about mechanics and doesn't mind digging deep in his pocket

I would not suggest Firestone at the Linden, NJ location to anyone. I had a flat tire because a nail was jammed in it, so I took it to Firestone at this location for repair. I went early on Saturday to have it repaired. The service took about an hour and a half. I went home happy. In two days, another tire had gone flat, but because of a bent rim. I had never had this problem before. I took the car back to Firestone in Linden the following Saturday sometime after noon. Wait time was about 3.5 - 4 hrs. I finally left Firestone close to 6PM. Monday morning, the tire is going flat again, so I will have to have it repaired for a third time! I will not be taking my car back to this Firestone. I have been a loyal customer to Firestone in Middletown, NY, and their services are excellent! I figured that I would take my car to the Firestone in Linden, NJ, expecting similar quality service and was very disappointed. In the Middletown, NY Firestone, their customer service rep would explain to me what the damage was on my car, how it could have happened, what they did to repair it, and how I can avoid such damage in the future. If there is a possibility that there are any issues with the repair/maintenance that they performed, they tell me to bring it right back to them and they will have it fixed (which I have never had to do because there has never been anything wrong with the work that they do to my car). In Linden, NJ, I get no explanation. After a long wait, the customer rep notifies me that my car is done, and that the air leakage on the tire is due to the rim with no explanation, no friendly offer to return the car if there is anything wrong with it, or explanation of what they did. I would not recommend this Firestone to anyone. In fact, I would suggest to anyone NOT to take their car to the Linden, NJ Firestone location.

Do not, I repeat, do not risk taking your vehicle to Firestone to have it serviced. Particularly the location on St. George Ave in Linden. Their mechanics confessed to accidently destroying my engine because they failed to put the proper amount of oil in my vehicle during my RECENT oil change. AMAZINGLY I was still left with absolutely nothing. Their honest mechanics told me that I was not liable and that it would be taken care of. Unfortunately this was not the case. The Firestone claims agent, Carlos Hernandez called me and quickly read a report OVER THE PHONE and in his last words just said that Firestone was not liable. He did not apologize or offer any advice....nothing! I asked so what know? Find a way to remove my disabled vehicle off the property and have a nice life? His reply was "yes". To make matters worse, I asked him for a copy of the report and he told me "No". When I asked why cant I have a report of an inspection done on my own vehicle he told me that I would have to have it court ordered. What in the world!? I have patronized them and given them a substantial amount of money just to get jerked in the end. I have no car. I had a tune up service done two months prior, and an oil change....yet I was told my engine died because of the lack of oil. I also had a new battery installed and four new tires form them! And this is how they treat their customers. Be warned!

Very honest, but not very competent. I took my car to them for stalling while idling and they suggested a bunch of things but never noticed that the fresh air intake hose was completely and thoroughly cracked (and that is like right in front of their faces). My father in law who is not even a mechanic just came in with a new piece and fixed it in less than an hr and its like brand new now. These mechanics suggested repairs totalling hundreds of dollars which I did and that did not solve the problem at all. As I said, very honest people- I think they just do not know how to fix cars all that well besides the routine oil changes, tune ups, etc. Btw, excellent deals on oil changes!
