I must say that when my son started at Fast Track I believed everything would be fine. But hen the bull started to come out. I now realize this isnt a school its a joke. My son didnt get anything from the program. The counselors are the worst, I dont think they are certified to be working in the education field. This school is all about getting money from the state for the amount of kids on there roster. Children are not showing up for classes and the school not going to tell the parent that a child isnt showing up at least both parents. I went to the school to check my sons progress they said we cant give you any information because my name isnt on any school papers but yet they are supposed to be a part of the newark board of education. So im their with court order in hand proving im the father and pointing out that any paper work furnished to one parent is supposed to be given to the other parent such as report card attendance records etc. Now my son is a high school drop out trying to get a G E D. Im not putting the total blame on the school because the school has good intentions its the people who are at the front lines giving you and you child bogus info from the start to boost the number of students to enroll. Now ask yourself if you have a child whos a senior that cant go to a regular high school for certain reasons they come to fast track but by no means is this fast. They butter your child up for the kill. {Yes we will help you get your diploma But we need you to go out and do community projects maybe clean up the neighborhood empty lots or help serve food to the homeless oh yeah in about 2 years you will get your diploma and we will get the state money for you enrollment for those 2 years} Isnt a G e d somewhat the same as a diploma ? If you study and actually apply yourself you can get a certificate in 4 to 6 months? Stop lying to these kids telling them that you really need to get you diploma for the better job when there are college graduates with all types of degrees unemployed in the entire country. The fact is if I wanted a really good job I could do it with a g e d. Besides g e d must work the state of NJ supports it. Dont be fooled there are ways to get to where you want to be.
