Family Medical And Urgent Care

Dr. Basileo has been my GP for about 23 years now and I recommend him highly. He's always extremely thorough and never rushed.

In general I have not had good experiences with these "first med" type places. The idea is great: quick easy access to medical care for the patient, and less strain on the ER rooms that should be reserved for real emergencies. But I get the feeling that these places are more interested in a get them in get them out, and bang the insurance type of philosophy as opposed to actually treating people.
I am fortunate to have good medical insurance but came here due to close proximity for what seemed to be a sinus infection. First off the doctor, very quickly without even doing a full set of vitals diagnoses me with a little "cold" even after listening to my lungs and saying that I'm wheezing. I didn't know what that meant until I went to my primary doctor a month later for a check up and he says the same thing only he prescribes me antibiotics and tells me I have bronchitis. I wasn't feeling right that whole month and after I took the antibiotics I felt like a new man.
The doctor here dropped the ball, and it was like he wasn't even trying.
I was foolish enough to go back a second time on a day they were slow and he had me wait in the room for 15 minutes before coming in and literally spent 3 minutes with me once again not even doing a full set of vitals. COMPLETE LACK OF THOROUGHNESS! I will not repeat, an I would stay away unless you absolutely need a prescription quickly filled and can tell him exactly what you need. Otherwise I have no trust in his abilities.
