Pros: I have a renovated one bedroom and although it is small, most everything is new.
Cons: Please take my advice and definitely look elsewhere. I have highlighted the main issues below:
-Moved in and my doorbell, hallway light (in a very dangerous location) and bedroom heat did not work and have not been fixed. When I tried to schedule a repairperson, I was told “we don’t pay overtime” in regards to scheduling on nights and weekends. I work during the week and other than an emergency, will not allow staff inside my apartment because I have medical equipment. Thankfully, my wonderful parents bought me a heated blanket so I don’t have to worry about hypothermia overnight.
-There is someone storing items in my garage rafters. As I pay $70 a month for the garage, I would like to use all my space. Refer to the “we don’t pay overtime” statement as to why the items are still in my garage.
-Rent. I pay my rent each and every month. In September, I placed my first check in the office mailbox since upon signing the lease was advised I could do so (and it was cashed). I did the same for October (I have a witness) and it was not cashed. I very well documented the entire process of trying to see where the check was. I called all around and asked if I should cancel it. I was told no and that someone would look for it and get back to me. No one ever called. The main management company said someone did call me, so I went ahead and pulled all my records from the phone company to prove they didn’t (I maintained all these records). I took matters into my own hands and canceled the check and paid the rent online. This resulted in a trip to court (even though I paid on time – not my fault the office staff lost my check AND told me not to cancel it), as well as fees they are trying to charge me. Case was dismissed in court (obviously) and they keep trying to charge me erroneous fees. This caused and continues to cause a lot of undue stress.
-Not enough parking for residents. You can purchase a permit to park on the street, but even so if you get home late you will be walking pretty far in the dark.
If I could get out of my lease without penalty, I would definitely move.
*I pay $1365 in rent and noticed it went up a lot.
