Having lived in Hoboken my whole life I have unfortunately been to quite a few services at Failla Funeral Home. They have all been fine and somber with nothing much to report.
It wasn't until I attended a mass for a recently deceased friend that I felt compelled to write this review. Mr. John McKnight is the Funeral Director and Owner of Failla and in my opinion is completely saccharine and wildly inconsiderate. At the service I attended, Mr. McKnight advised those attending to turn off our cell phones. As not to be rude, we all obliged. Mr. McKnight must have thought he was exempt from his own request as his cell phone obnoxiously and loudly rang not once, but on two separate occasions during the mass. To make things better, he picked up the calls while still in the church!!!!!
Not only that, but he was chatting with his colleague and doing paperwork in the back pew throughout the entire mass. Astoundingly inconsiderate and rude!!!
Funerals and funeral masses are one of those events that you don't get too many chances at. Mr. McKnight completely ruined the mass for me and disrespected the memory of my dead friend. No apology for doing so either. I would not recommend Failla Memorial Home...even to the dead. It is clearly run by someone who just doesn't care.
