Eye Q Optical Inc

Unlike the meatheads who wrote negative reviews my experience was 100% positive. I didn't have to wait, they got everything right, I love my glasses. I particular want to mention Derrick, he rocks, one of the nicest people I've spoken to in a long time.

Place feels very friendly and is well run. Robert is fantastic, both polite and caring! Frames inventory is very well selected and very often sales are available. Dr. Gut on weekends also genuinely care for your eyes' well-being and does exams very thoroughly!

The eye exam Rx was WRONG! A second eye exam form another optician confirmed that Eye Q Optical was wrong. The pair I had gotten from Eye Q were damaged but still under warranty. They first refused to honor the warranty. When I got Davis Optical involved, they changed their tune. But they then said they would only honor the warranty for an additional $15 fee to cover the cost of sending them back to the manufacturer. Instead the manufacturer agreed to send the replacement lenses to directly to Eye Q. When I went to pick up the glasses, they lied straight faced to me insisting they had to send the frames back to the manufacturer. I reminded him that I had fixed that, They then said there was a $15 fee to send the old lenses back. I find the personnel dishonest. "Dishonest" and 'health care provider' should not be used in the same sentence. I'm glad there are so many other excellent opticians around. I'll NEVER go back to Eye Q. I would report them to the Better Business Bureau, but they're not even members. I will report them to Davis Optical. Perhaps if enough complaints are filed about them, they might become less sleazy. But I doubt it! DON"T GO. RUN to any other nearby opticians. There are some great ones on Austin Street.

the prices are good, the staff is very professional and friendly. my exam was very thorough and the doctor was very professional. i dealt directly with the owner and he was able to show me many different choices and even ordered a few pairs of glasses for me to look at. the parking is free and the location is very convenient. they accept most insurance plans and if they do not accept the plan, they usually work well with you by helping with a discount. i would definatley go back and i also recommended to two friends who also had good experiences.

Worst possible place for an eye exam!

Had an appointment for 12:30 and both my husband and I needed to have our prescription for eye glasses done. While we waited over an hour we saw 3 customers go through the worst treatment one can experience at an eyeglass place. The staff continually tries to push the most expensive overpriced glasses at the customer. Their frames are about 150 bucks higher than online. I tried 2 pairs on and found both on Amazon for 150 less each. One was coach and the other was DG. So after waiting an hour for our appointment my husband was finally called in.... It took over a 1/2 hour for the optometrist to perform what has in my experience over the last 30 yrs only taken at most 20 min to get measures and perform an eye exam. When he finished I commented as a joke that physicals take shorter than the time it takes her to do a prescription and she got so offended I found myself apologizing.... Which this moron actually had the gall after making us wait forever not to accept my apology.

Seriously, after you make a patient wait over an hour for an scheduled appointment you should be able to take a little joking criticism... When she started to have an attitude I just said enough and walked out without an eye exam.

Honestly, if you go here expect over an hour wait, a very money hungry staff and outdated machines, overpriced frames and lenses.

When you spend over 500 bucks in a place you should at least expect to be treated better than a child whose time doesn't matter.

Find a better place... This one is an epic fail!
