I found myself in a pinch during a gap between moving out of my old place and into my new place, and I was in a complete panic. Not only was Extra Space Storage available, but it was very easy to use. I booked online, got a call right away confirming that I was booking, and was able to ask questions on the phone about when I had to go in person to finalize opening the account.
I went in a day before the move and Kevon was very accommodating of my spastic and nervous state. He answered all my questions calmly, even when they were ones we were going to have to go over again when I initialed all the fine detail boxes of the contract. I changed the size of my unit (going up a size) right there at the counter with no penalty or hassle. I cannot stress enough how much of a babbling crazy person I must've seemed to him, but he was kind and patient with me through the whole process.
Need to Know:
-It takes a little while to open the account, so I would recommend finalizing all paperwork in person at least an hour before you have a truck pulling up. I went the day before and I was really glad that I did.
-You will need a lock, either your own or one you can buy from them. You should lock your space immediately or they will with their own lock to show it's in use (in that case you'll have to check in with them to get the key before you can get into the unit, so it's better just to put yours on if possible.)
-They have small flatbed carts, but it's first come first serve, much like the parking which can get a little full by the main loading doors.
-They have great deals for the first month - three months, but the price may go up after that, so make sure you read the fine print and be ready to budget for that. For my purposes this was a great choice both financially and for ease of use but if you're planning to be here long term make sure that you know what you're getting into as far as cost escalation.
-There isn't a way to block open the automatic door so either everyone in your moving party needs to know the code to the door into the building, or you will need someone to stand next to the sensor and trip it every time someone is on their way in.
